The God Who is With Us

BEHOLD, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
          Matthew 1:23

I recently wrote about "the God who sees" and the comfort it gives that God sees our efforts to obey him, to serve cheerfully in the dark of night...while everyone else is sleeping...and you are cleaning up vomit.

It has brought me a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection with God to be reminded that everything I do (and, oh my, everything I think) is seen by Him.  My everyday tasks and the way I go about accomplishing them are an act of worship to God--a way to thank Him for the family He has given me, a way to honor His image shining out of the three little-boy faces I see every day, a way to marvel at His creation and His sustaining all of it, at all times.
